100 Victorian Christmas Religious Cards

A gorgeous collection of 100 Victorian Religious Christmas card images for giving your art projects and crafty creations that traditional Christmas feel. Having a Nativity Story theme and featuring mainly the Holy Family they were sent as Christmas postcards during the Victorian and Edwardian eras.

This listing includes the set of 100 Christmas postcards in individual JPG format. They are presented just as they are in their original state; with all the lovely little imperfections intact. These have not been edited, restored or artificially enhanced by me in any way which are perfect if you like that authentically aged look for your Bible journals, junk journals, antique ephemera, decoupage, Christmas journals, Christmas cards, gift tags, advent calendars, Christmas craft projects etc. Being religious imagery they have been in the main painted in ‘sombre’ colours as was typical in those eras.

Please bear in mind how old these images are; technology was different back then and these cards were hand painted by the artists with a surface designed to appear as a miniature oil painting; most of them were first published well over 100 years ago! They can’t be compared to images created today, they simply aren’t of the same ilk. The cards are in their original Victorian published size of just under 6 inches x 4 inches; this was the largest size they allowed to be posted in Victorian times!

For ease of printing I have included two additional sets of the images as 4 cards per Letter size sheet which I have edited and enhanced; one set with a canvas texture and one set without.

I have also included 10 Bonus collage sheets which I have compiled using the images in this collection and other religious themed images; being smaller in size they are ideal for Christmas gift tags as well as for making collages, decoupaging or little journal cards. I have digitally enhanced these smaller images by increasing the depth of the colours and sharpened them up for printing but still keeping their authentic feel.
